Burger King in Brazil has shown its excitement over the upcoming Barbie film by launching a new bright pink meal.
Patrons who order the special cheeseburger can expect it to come with bacon, pink sauce and fries, as well as a pink vanilla-flavoured milkshake and a doughnut covered in pink frosting, Sky News revealed.
It is being released to coincide with the premiere of the Barbie movie, which opens at cinemas across the UK on Friday (July 21st).
Starring Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken, the long-awaited movie is based on the doll franchise.
Brazil’s Burger King customers have already been able to try the Barbie meal and its posts have already received hundreds of thousands of likes on its Instagram page.
However, some have not had the kindest things to say about it, with one announcing on social media the pink sauce tastes like “chewed bubblegum”.
Burger King is not the only brand jumping on the Barbie bandwagon at the moment, as lots of companies are releasing new products to coincide with the release of the movie.
For instance, clothing brand Gap has introduced t-shirts, skirts, hoodies, denim, and bags in pink with the Barbie logo on.
When it comes to food, N!ck’s has launched strawberry white Barbie ice-screams, Propercorn has unveiled a new bright pink bag for its sweet flavour, and zero-sugar drink’s brand Swoon has released a limited edition Barbie pink lemonade.
Burger King’s latest product could inspire other fast food outlets to launch Barbie-themed meals, all served in bright pink deli boxes or cups. For more information on sustainable food packaging, call us today.
